Brief bio
Frank started sound engineering back in the late
1970s, when he bought a PA and started doing sound
for small acoustic acts.
This lead to being full-time FOH sound engineer for the very popular and successful Melbourne rock band Dear Enemy for about two years, in the very early 80s.
After that he did sound for several other bands. While working for Dear Enemy he did a year-long sound engineering course, which lead to experience working in recording studios (in the days of tape!)
Family life happened and Frank returned to his trade of being a maintenance fitter in factories, keeping machinery running. This period also saw him in the Army Reserve for 4 years and the Rye CFA (fire brigade) for 10 years. He kept mixing the occasional live sound gig during this time, and of course kept up his keen interest in music.
Frank got back into sound engineering a few years ago. He is now widely acknowledged as an extremely competent, creative and supportive live sound engineer… not a gig goes by without happy, beaming people exclaiming that the sound was "great", whether it involves a solo singer-songwriter or band, or a pub gig or festival.
As a recording engineer, Frank has the ability to allow artists to relax and put in a great performance. Put this together with his high degree of technical skill and professional equipment, and the result is quality recordings artists are very happy with.

Robin
Hi there, I'm Frank's partner. Frank and I met a long
time ago when we did a sound engineering course
together and then worked in the same recording
studio, in Richmond.
Several years ago we got together and set up house, and we now help each other out with quite a few creative projects.
I assist Frank in the studio when we have larger groups in, often assist with mixdowns, and manage the business side of things. We also work together at festivals, taking care of sound and stage.
I also do the design and upkeep of this website - I guess that makes me the webmistress!
